In 2021 I was indicted on 14 wire and security charges. I was facing 18-36 months in prison but instead ended up receiving probation. I have worked with many lawyers during the years and in my opinion I could categorize them in three groups: First the ones that just don’t care, second they are simply bad lawyers and last the ones not only they are extremely good attorneys but also they care about their clients and they fight for them. I was lucky enough to have such a lawyer. Mr. Bill Mauzy with the Mauzy Law Firm. Not only is he a brilliant attorney and due his long life dealing with different cases, he is well experienced and respected in the legal community but also and the most important part is HE FIGHTS for you. He and his associate Will Dooling spent hours and hours going through everything about the case and walked me through every step. Their preparation for trial is simply just impressive. I would definitely recommend the Mauzy Law Firm. They are the attorneys you want on your side in hard times. I am glad I had him and William as my attorneys during those rough times. Thank you Mr. Mauzy for everything.
I was falsely accused of a very serious crime. Had I been convicted of this crime it would have ruined my life and sent me to prison. I hired Mr. Mauzy to defend me and he immediately provided support and worked tirelessly on my case that took several years to resolve. After weeks of intense trial preparation, my case went to trial against a very aggressive prosecutor. After the jury deliberated there was one hold out juror and the jury deadlocked 11 to 1 for not guilty. Mr. Mauzy’s courtroom presence was awesome and his trial experience and expertise were critical at a time when I needed it most. His cross-examination of the State’s witnesses brought out their lies and inconsistencies. He spent many hours with me preparing me for the intimidating task of testifying before the jury, a group of strangers who would decide my fate. The jury trial went really well because of the extensive trial preparation and because I developed a relationship of completely trusting Mr. Mauzy’s advice and judgment. His closing argument was wonderful to hear and persuasive. He was able to tell the jury the truth – that I was innocent and that the state hadn’t proven otherwise. Mr. Mauzy agreed to handle the retrial of my case even though I could not at that point pay him the full fee that he deserved. We spent many hours again preparing the case for a second trial. On the first day of the second trial, the prosecutor made us an offer that we could not refuse. Because Mr. Mauzy was obviously so well prepared and dedicated to winning the trial, the State offered to have me plead to a very minor, unrelated, misdemeanor verbal disorderly conduct to resolve the case.
Mr. Mauzy continued to provide support to me from the start to the finish of my case. He was always available by phone, day and night, and he frequently met with me in person to counsel me and prepare for trial. The great result in this case kept me from a felony conviction and avoided jail. Most importantly, it allowed me to retain custody of my only child, the dearest person in the world to me.
Mr. Mauzy helped me during the darkest time in my life, and achieved a great result so I could move on with my life undamaged by the false allegation against me. I would recommend Mr. Mauzy to my best friend or anyone else if he were being investigated or charged with a crime.
I’m very grateful to have had Bill Mauzy represent me. I had an open case for many years and had tried different representation with no result. Eventually I found Bill and he was able to get a full dismissal of my case despite challenging circumstances. He was very professional, direct and efficient. I couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome and he has had a direct positive impact upon my life and that of my family. I would strongly recommend him to anyone.
